USB Based HERON Module Carriers for FPGA Systems
A Module Carrier board provides mechanical mounting, power supplies and control of your modules. It also provides a means to exchange data between the modules in real time at up to 400Mbytes/second and with the Host computer at up to 50Mbytes/second over the USB connection.
The HERON-BASE2 is our 2 slot USB HERON module carrier. It provides a FIFO connection between the modules, and also FIFO connections from each module to the USB connection. If your system needs only one or two modules the HERON-BASE2 can be a very economical choice for you.
Your system can be used stand alone (without a PC) if you want.
You can choose PCI based systems if you prefer. They allow more than 2 modules per module carrier and also offer high-speed real time connections between module carriers.
For simple (single module) embedded systems the HERON-BASE1 module carrier can be used.
All of our module carriers are supported by our HOST API software which allows you to access your system from a program that you write for the Host PC.
