HERON Module Carriers for PCI, cPCI & USB

A Module Carrier board provides mechanical mounting, power supplies and control of your modules. It also provides a means to exchange data between the modules in real time at up to 400Mbytes/second and with the Host computer at up to 100Mbytes/second using connections based on FIFOs. 

There are a number of different module carriers available according to your system requirements:

HERON PCI and Compact PCI format carriers, have slots for up to four HERON modules with real time data exchange between modules. These carriers also have a slot for an interconnection module so that you can extend your system across multiple carriers if you need to. 

The HERON-BASE2 offers the choice of connection to your PC via USB. There are two module slots on this carrier with FIFO connections between modules and to the USB. So, if you want a fully-featured system but only need one or two modules this makes an economical choice.

Both PCI/cPCI and USB carriers can be used standalone or embedded.

For a simple (single module) embedded system the HERON-BASE1 module carrier can be used. 

All of our module carriers are supported by our HOST API software which allows you to access your system from a program that you write for the Host PC.
